The first thing you'll notice about indieCart is that shopping on this site is a bit different than the traditional on-line shopping experience. Think of indieCart as a collection of stores, each one with its own products, shopping experience and checkout. The one thing these stores have in common is that they are powered by indieCart's unique code.

What's unique about indieCart's shopping cart code?
First of all, indieCart was originally coded for extremely high-demand, one-of-a-kind items. Sellers who tried to offer this type of item via traditional cart codes ran into server crashes, overselling items, and frustrated customers.
As time has gone by, we have added different ways to offer high-demand items including auctions and drawings.
Do I have to register for an account in order to shop?
You can browse around the stores and purchase some items without registering. However, if you would like to purchase a high-demand item through a "Buy Now" listing, enter a drawing, or bid on an auction, you will need to register for an account. Note that registering is very easy -- you only need to enter your first name and an email address. As stated in our Privacy Policy, your first name is simply used in friendly greetings throughout the site and your email is used as your contact information to the seller when you purchase items. This information is not shared with anyone other than sellers from whom you purchase items directly.
Why are some items listed but not yet available?
Some sellers of high-demand items like to preview their items so that buyers have a chance to read carefully through the listings before getting ready to "stalk" (stalking is basically hanging around a store until an item is available and trying to be the first to click the "Buy Now" button).
Most sellers accept Paypal. Paypal also offers credit card processing without a Paypal account. Some sellers also accept checks or Money Orders. Read carefully through the listing information to understand the payment options.
How do I leave feedback for my purchase?
After you have received your item, you can leave feedback for it via your "My purchases" page. To access this page, you will need to log in to your indieCart account (click "Login" at the top left of the page). Then use the drop-down menu at the top of the page to go to Welcome >> My purchases. You will see a "Leave feedback" link all the way to the right of your purchase.
If you were not logged in when you made your purchase, or if you have not registered for a indieCart account, the link to leave feedback can be found in the order confirmation email you received upon payment for the order.
What should I do if I pay for an item and it never shows up?
If you have you have not received an item you ordered, and are unable to contact the seller, please wait a reasonable amount of time (at least 2-3 days) and then take two steps:
- Leave objective, honest feedback for the seller via the feedback link on your purchase history page
- Dispute the charge with Paypal to recover your funds
Also, if you notice that the seller has more than 3 unresolved transaction and the store is still operating, please contact us directly at support@indiecart.com so we can consider deactivating the store. Thanks for the help!
