Hi everyone,
I’ve just installed a script which allows you to submit your listings to Google Base. For those of you who don’t know, Google Base is a searchable database for product listings on the internet. From their website, “Simply describe your items on Base to make them as easy as possible for people to find when they search.” I’ve put together an HC Google Base tutorial here: http://hyenacart.com/googlebase_tut.php .
So get out there and submit your listing to Google Base, already, it’s free, it’s pretty easy, and it will hopefully bring in new traffic to your store.
Have fun!
Way to go Karen! I’ve been excited for this change, thank you!
Wow what an awesome addition! Can’t wait to try it out!
stupid question…how do we make the xml file that we upload?
whoops, nevermind. I found it.
Thanks Karen!
Oops. But now I’m getting this error when I try to create the file:
“Safari can’t open the page “feed://hyenacart.com/HCmulti/admin/googlebase/google_feed_gen.phpâ€Â. The error was: “The feed could not be loaded because the content is not in a known feed format.†(PubSub:2) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.”
Hmmmm, Carolyn. Is there any way you could try from a different
browser? I’m not sure I can figure out how to make this compatible
with Safari.
This is great!!! I am on the warpath now-between this and HC cards and flyers I am soo excited! Thank you Karen!! You have really been putting in the extra effort and it really shows:)
I got this message:
Failed
Data feed upload failed. No items are live.
Any ideas anyone?
Actually I looked into it further and this is the error:
We didn’t understand the header (first) row of your file. Please make sure you’re using valid attribute names.
I get the same error. Now what?

I don’t see a place on the settings page to register a domain, other than Website (optional) which I put as http://www.hyenacart.com/fishnoodles
I hope the above post is helpful.
I got the same errors as above….
You rock Karen! Thank you
I am trying this with safari too, I don’t get an error message but it creates a feed right away, it never asked me to download anything. I am going to try it on firefox and see what happens.
Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
On the subject of realty matters I understand that but where does it take us?
I thought I was wrong once, but it turns out I was mistaken. 🙂
