With the opening of B is for Babe it is my hope that bursts of my creative energy can by bundled up and mailed to your home. I create these items for you to bring simplicity and delight to your daily life as a parent.

I have always loved creating – whether it be pencil sketching, photography, or interior design (my former career) I have always needed an avenue to explore color and texture and form - it calms me and brings me joy.

With the birth of my first son in 2004 a new life unfolded before me; Mothering has immersed me in a world that can be so challenging and I have found that a few simple tools helped me to thrive as a parent. A sling helps to calm a crying baby, well designed clothing speeds up nighttime diaper changes so we all fall back asleep easily, and on and on. Many of these tools were out my reach at first – either I couldn’t find a place to buy them or I couldn’t justify their expense… so I got creative. I figured out simple solutions for myself, thinking and re-thinking, researching and diving in. At some point I began learning how to sew cloth diapers, which led to a true passion and more hours at my simple sewing machine than I care to admit. Soon all kinds of fabric, patterns, and projects were cropping up around my house and when I learned to knit, the balls of wool were multiplying in the corners. All of this creating led to a confidence about what I was doing and I felt myself blossoming, looking to grow and branch out. It took about 1000 nudges from various people in my life before I considered opening up shop and I am beyond excited to be doing so.

As my business has evolved, so has my life, most importantly with the birth of my second son in 2008. I hope to continue to provide you with the things that I couldn’t live without when I am with my baby, the things I have longed for and the things that I love now as my older son grows from toddler to preschooler. It is my sincere wish that the items I handcraft enhance the comfort, wellness and happiness in your life with your child.
