She said they worked well and softened the laundry until they got fuzzy, at which time they didn't soften the clothes as well. She is not clear how long that took, and this may be typical of dryer balls, I really don't know. There were 3 unused ones when I returned from India. I've been using 2 since then (for a little over 2 months) on my daughter's cloth nappies in the dryer. They work great at softening her diapers!
