My name is Jen I the SAHM/WHAM behind Terra Tushies and Earth Yarn. Being able to combine something that I love and work has been such an awesome experience. Fiber and spinning have become a large part of my life and my favorite pastime so it gives me great joy to make these gorgeous yarns and fiber products! All of my fiber is hand dyed by me using professional quality acid dyes so there should be no fading or bleeding of color. My rovings are gently rinsed after dying to preserve the quality and reduce felting to make them easier to spin so there may be a little bit of color run off when you first wash your yarn but after that the color will not run again. I use this method of dying rovings so it is easier for spinners to draft the fiber. All of my yarn is spun on my Ashford Traveller spinning wheel and plied on either my Ashford wheel or my Hitchhiker spinning wheel. The yarn is then soaked in warm water and hung to dry to set the twist. I run all of my yarn through an electronic yarn gauge to determine yardage and use a WPI card to determine the thickness of the yarn and needle size recommended. The yarn is then re-skeined and logo band with the yarn info is put around the yarn to make it easier for customers.
